You Vote: Player of the Season

It is crunch time for Chelsea. Not so long ago Antonio Conte’s men were a what seem unaccountable distance clear at the top of the Premier League table and on top to reclaim their Premier League title after the dismal showing that was last season.

However, two losses in the last four at the hands of Crystal Palace and Manchester United have set up for a nervy end to the season, especially considering the good form of closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won their last seven Premier League games on the bounce and are looking unstoppable going into the final etchings of the season.

Chelsea however still remain favourites to top the pile come May, with their brilliant form before Christmas – including a thirteen game winning streak ironically ended by Spurs themselves – looking to like it will be just enough to get them over the line.

Regardless of the outcome come next month however, this season has been a vast improvement on last, a year in which the club finished in 10th position – their lowest ever of the Premier League era.

While it has certainly been a squad effort to get to the position they are in, there have been number of stand-out performers for the Blues. Amongst others, Eden Hazard has re-found his form after a difficult last term; N’Golo Kante is proving to be the best £30 million the club has ever spent; and Victor Moses has reinvented himself to become one of the first names on the team-sheet at the Bridge.
