You Vote: Should Chelsea re-sign Romelu Lukaku this summer?

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a summer move for their former striker and current Premier League top scorer Romelu Lukaku this summer.

The Belgian has scored 24 times in the top flight this season for current side Everton, and has attracted attention from a host of Europe’s top clubs, none less so than Chelsea who are allegedly keen to bring the prolific hitman back to Stamford Bride.

Lukaku signed for the Blues for circa £17 million back in the summer of 2011 having scored an impressive 41 goals in just under 100 appearances for Belgian Division A side Anderlecht. The now 23-year-old struggled for game time at the Bridge however, and later moved to Everton on a permanent basis in 2014 having spent two seasons out on loan, first at West Brom and subsequently at the Toffees themselves who later made the deal permanent.

Costa has been widely linked with a move to China in the summer having struggled for form recently.

Since the £28 million move to Merseyside – a club record for Everton – Lukaku has scored 70 goals over the past three seasons, establishing himself as not only one of the Premier League’s, but also one of Europe’s most lethal forwards.

With Chelsea front-man Diego Costa supposedly set for a big money move to China this summer, Lukaku has become the favourite to replace the Spaniard.

Former Chelsea player and caretaker manager Ray Wilkins is one of many that believes Chelsea should move for the big Belgian during the summer, saying: “I would go for Lukaku as I think they need that strength and power.” when asked who Chelsea should replace Costa with should he leave for Asia come the summer.

So what do you think? Should The Blues make the move for their former youngster? Have your say below.
