Three starlets to watch from the FA Cup Youth final victory

Callum Hudson Odoi

What a strike. Hudson Odoi hits a wonder goal right into the top corner.

Another one of those on the scoresheet with a strike that nestled as top corner as you have ever seen top corner, Callum Hudson Odoi was the primary attacking threat for the Blues at the Bridge last night. His energetic and powerful running with the ball, more often than not directly at the City defenders, caused all sorts of problems which the youngsters in Sky Blue were clearly incapable of dealing with.

While Ike Ugbo – who also got in on the act with a spectacular over-head kick for his 10th goal of the competition – may have been the poster boy for this seasons FA Youth Cup campaign, it was Odoi who stole the show.

It is so refreshing to see a young attacker not only unafraid to come deep and collect the ball, but also have the audacity if you will to turn and run with it. It is a trait lacked by many forwards at the top level these days, however it is one that without doubt will always terrify defenders, especially with the pace, power and skill at which the youngster does it.
